John Stevens Berry, Sr.
attended Stanford University (B.A. 1960) and Northwestern University
(J.D. 1965). He has attended both the Infantry Officers' Course
at Fort Benning, Georgia, and the Judge Advocate General's Course
at Charlottesville, Virginia. As a captain in Vietnam, he received
the Bronze Star, and the Vietnamese Medal of Honor (Gold), the
Cross of Gallantry With Palm, and numerous other awards and decorations.
He is a fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, and
is past president of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys'
Association. His Vietnam memoir, Those Gallant Men,
was chosen Book of the Month by the Military Book Club. For over
a decade he maintained a local radio show while practicing law.
'The John Stevens Berry Show' first aired on KLIN and then on
KZUM. Throughout his career Mr. Berry has defended clients in
over a hundred jury trials. He currently practices extensively
in the areas of criminal defense and veterans' rights.
