VICTORY PARTYING LEADS TO UNDERAGE DUI IN NEBRASKA | NATIONAL VA CLAIMS DENIAL APPEAL ATTORNEYS | LINCOLN AGENT ORANGE VA CLAIMS LAW FIRM

Posted By Berry Law Firm || 25-Nov-2013

Those in Lincoln with ties to the sports scene may be well aware that drinking and sports often go hand in hand. Those watching a good game may indulge in an ice cold beer and the players themselves may party after victories. However, it is important for both fans and players alike to be aware of the fact that it is important to stay out of the driver’s seat after drinking, lest you land yourself some hefty drunk driving charges.

One Nebraskan college football player might be learning this lesson the hard way. The alleged cause of the drinking was due to a recent victory against Michigan a week prior. Some state that the partying was getting a little out of hand even for a victory celebration.

The football player, who was underage and thus given a minor in possession citation, was reportedly also cited for driving drunk. It was stated that the officer smelled alcohol on him, but it is unknown whether a field sobriety test or breathalyzer test was administered. It is also unknown what the player’s penalty will be for this charge.

Some college sports players may be kicked out of their teams after being faced with a DUI. It could also impact their lives on a scholastic front as well and even make it more difficult for the student to find employment after graduating. These are just a few of the reasons that DUIs should be taken seriously. If you are a college student and struggling with DUI charges, it might be beneficial to have the aid of an attorney.
